This stunning edition of The Poetical Works of Alfred Lord Tennyson was published by WP Nimmo, Hay and Mitchell. The book itself is undated but there is a written inscription dated 1910. So the book is likely Edwardian. It is bound in half vellum over pink cloth boards, with stunning floral decoration in gilt and red to the spine. Top edge gilt.
It's in near fine condition, with just light wear to the corners and a slight forward lean to the book. The vellum shows some minor marks and scuffs, and there are some small water marks to the title label.
Inside, the free endpapers are tanned and there is a written inscription to the FFEP. The pages are clean and bright.
Book measures approximately 19.1cm x 13.3cm x 3.4cm.
The books will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
