This stunning edition of What Katy Did by Susan Coolidge was published by J W Butcher. The book is undated, but there is a written inscription inside dated 1910. So the book is likely from the Edwardian era.
The book is bound in red cloth with pictorial floral decoration to the front board and spine. It's in remarkably good condition with just some fading around the edges of the front board and also to the spine. There is a circular impression/bump to the front board and some scuffs to the back board. The top corner of the back board is bumped and crushing to the head of the spine has caused minor splitting in the cloth. There is a little foxing to the text block edges.
Inside, there is a written inscription on the front free endpaper and the pages show light age toning throughout, with occasional foxing. The bump/impression to the front board can be seen to the preliminary pages.
Dimensions approximately 19cm x 13cm x 2.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
