This lovely edition of The Cook's Oracle Containing Receipts for Plain Cookery was published by Robert Cadell in 1837. The book has been rebound in half cloth and marbled paper boards. There is a leather title label to the spine.
It's in very good condition with just light rubbing to the corners and minor marking to the cover.
Inside, the pages show age toning and scattered foxing throughout, with occasional marking. There is cracking to the gutter in places, including at the title page, but the pages remain tight to the binding. There are new endpapers.
Dimensions approximately 17.2cm x 11cm x 2.9cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
