This stunning edition of The Young People's Nature Study Book in Garden Field and Wood was published by Charles H Kelly in 1910. So the book is from the end of the Edwardian era. It's bound in grey cloth with stunning pictorial decoration to the front board and spine.
It's in good condition but there is quite a lot of rubbing to the decoration on the front board and spine. The spine is also sunned and discoloured, whilst crushing to the spine ends has caused splitting in the cloth. The back board shows some scuffs and minor marks and there is wear and crushing to the corners - the bottom corners show splitting in the cloth. There is also foxing to the text block edges.
Inside, the hinges are cracked and the endpapers are tanned. The pages show age toning and significant foxing throughout. One plate is detached and there is a tear (approximately 1.5inch to the edge of page 145).
This is a large, heavy book, measuring approximately 20cm 13.5cm x 3.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
