This lovely edition of The Three Musketeers by Alexander Dumas was published by Methuen and Co. The book is undated but there is an inscription by the editor dated 1904. So the book is likely Edwardian.
The book is bound in red cloth with gilt lettering to the front and spine. It's in good condition but wear to the corners has caused some fraying to the cloth - the bottom corner of the back board has splitting in the cloth, revealing the board beneath. The boards show minor marks and the spine is faded and discoloured, with dulling to the gilt. Crushing to the spine ends has caused some minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, there are some rubbed out pencilled writing to the front free endpaper and a penned inscription from the Editor on the verso. The pages show age toning and scattered foxing throughout. There are also some cracks to the gutter in places but the pages remain tightly bound.
The book features lovely colour plates by Frank Adams and an introduction by Andrew Lang. Dimensions approximately 24.1cm x 16.3cm x 4cm.
