This wonderful edition of The Royal Kalendar: Court and City Register, for England, Scotland, Ireland, and the Colonies for the year 1827. The Royal Kalendar was a British Almanac and Directory published from the 1760's right up until 1893. It provided a comprehensive list of notable individuals and institutions in Great Britain, Ireland, and the Colonies. It was basically a detailed annual register that included information on government officials, members of parliament, peers, baronets, and other prominent figures across the British Isles and its colonies.
This particular edition was for the year 1827 and was published by Suttaby, Fox and Suttaby. It features a contemporary half calf binding with gilt lettering to the spine. It's in excellent condition with only some minor scuffing to the leather and light fading to the spine.
Inside, the book features new endpapers and there are some penned notes on blank pages at the front and back of the book. The pages show age toning and scattered foxing throughout, with some creasing and chipping to the page edges in places. There are occasional pen marks.
Dimensions approximately 17.8cm x 11cm x 3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
