This beautiful full leather book features a selection from The Poets of the 19th Century and was published by Frederick Warne. The book itself is undated but I'd estimate it to be mid to late Victorian (circa 1870-1890).
The book is bound in full forest green Moroccan leather with intricate gold gilt tooling to the boards and spine. There are five raised bands to the spine and gold gilt to the text block edges.
It's in remarkably good condition for it's age but there is some wear and minor loss to the surface of the leather at the corners. The boards show minor marks and there is rubbing and chipping to the spine. The leather of the spine is also faintly darkened.
Inside, the endpapers are beautifully marbled and there is a name plate stuck to the front pastedown. The pages have some minor marks and age toning throughout but are otherwise in remarkably good condition.
There are a handful of stunning black and white illustrations which add to the charm of this leather book.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
