This beautiful vintage edition of the Pippa Passes and Other Poetic Dramas by Robert Browning was published by The Walter Scott Publishing Co. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be circa 1900.
The book is bound in quarter vellum with green cloth boards. Gilt decorated spine and top edge gilt. It's in good condition but there is soiling and marking to the vellum, with some loss and chipping to the leather title label. There is light wear and bumping to the board edges; the corners are also worn and crushed, with the cloth slightly split to reveal the board beneath. There are some minor marks to the green cloth.
Inside, there are marbled endpapers and the pages are clean and bright with only light age toning and very occasional foxing.
Dimensions approximately 13.5cm x 10.3cm x 2.6cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
