This beautiful vintage edition of the The Poetical Works of Sir Walter Scott was published by Henry Frowde in 1908. So the book is Edwardian. It's bound in quarter vellum with pretty detail to the front and a blind stamped school insignia in gilt to the front. Top edge gilt.
It's in very good condition with light wear to the corners and board edges. There is some minor marking to the boards and light soiling to the vellum. The leather title label is scuffed.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and the pages show age toning throughout. There is occasional foxing and marking, with creasing to the title page and preface page.
Dimensions approximately 19.1cm x 13.2cm x 3.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
