This stunning antique edition of Your Birthday by Lucy A Bennett was published by Castell Brothers - a publisher best known for card games, stationery, board games and Victorian Greetings cards. This little booklet contains just six leaves and is undated - from my own research, I'd estimate it to have been published circa 1890 (the late Victorian era).
It's a sweet little book that would have been sent in lieu of a birthday card. It features beautiful chromolithograph illustrations, and a poem by Lucy A Bennett. It's in near fine condition for it's age, but there is some foxing to the cover and light wear to the corners and spine ends.
Inside, the pages are age toned but in very good, antique condition.
There are 8 beautiful chromolithograph plates which are really detailed and enchanting - they suit the book perfectly.
Dimensions approximately 12.3cm x 11.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
