This sweet little Prayer Book features an unusual Celluloid cover, with beautiful gauffered gilt edges in a floral pattern, with a little dash of colour to each flower. Gauffering describes the act of applying a patterned decoration to the text block edges of a book.
It's in good condition but there is almost complete loss to the decoration on the front board and dark marking to the spine near the head. The back board has light soiling. The gauffered fore-edge is a bit dulled, but the top and bottom edges are bright and clear.
Inside, there is a written name on the front pastedown and sadly there is staining to the edges of the pages up to Page 113. There is occasional foxing but otherwise the text is clear and bright.
Dimensions approximately 12.6cm x 9cm x 2cm.
The book will be hand wrapped in patterned paper and ribbon.
