This beautiful edition of Diary of A Provincial Lady by EM Delafield was published by The Folio Society in 2015. It still has it's original slipcase.
This humorous diary follows the daily life and escapades of an upper-middle class English-woman living mostly in a sleepy village during the 1930's. It was largely autobiographical and shows how astutely Delafield captures personalities and behaviours with her writing.
This pretty book is in excellent condition with minimal wear. The slipcase shows some light marks and scuffing to the card and there is a small bump to one edge.
Inside there are no inscriptions or dedications, and the pages are clean and bright with minimal wear.
The book features black and white character illustrations by Nicholas Bentley.
Dimensions (including slipcase) approximately 23cm x 13cm x 2.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
