This beautiful edition of The Fishers of Derby Haven was published by the Religious Tract Society. The book itself is undated but I'd estimate it to be mid Victorian (circa 1870's or 1880's). It's bound in original purple cloth with gilt decoration to the front and spine.
It's in good condition but the book shows a slight forward lean and wear to the corners has caused minor splitting and fraying to the cloth. The boards show light marking and the spine is sunned; crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, there is a penned inscription to the front free endpaper and the pages show occasional foxing and marking. The book features a handful of black and white plates. Dimensions approximately 17cm x 11.1cm x 1.9cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
