This beautiful vintage edition of The Story of the Man Who Fought the Giants by W.S.Martin was published by Morgan and Scott. The book itself is undated but there is a written inscription dated 1908. So the book is likely to be Edwardian. It's bound in blue cloth with floral decoration and silver gilt lettering to the front.
The Story of the Man Who Fought the Giants is an 1899 religious and allegorical book, using the thematic concept of fighting giants as a faith based metaphor. It's in very good condition with light wear to the corners and minor marks to the boards. There is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, the endpapers show light tanning and there is a small tear to the edge of the fold out frontispiece. There is a penned inscription on the verso of the FFEP. The pages are clean and bright. Dimensions approximately 19.1cm x 12.8cm x 1.7cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
