This stunning vintage edition of The Boy's Book of Adventures was published by Cassell and Company Ltd in 1912. So the book is from just after the Edwardian era, before the start of the First World War.
This lovely vintage book is bound in brown cloth with pretty pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's in remarkably good condition, but the corners do show some light wear and crushing. The boards are noticeably soiled and marked, with some loss to the decoration on the front board. The spine has crushing to the spine ends, and there is foxing and soiling to the text block edges.
Inside, the pages show some minor foxing, marking and age toning but are otherwise clean and bright. There is a presentation plate glued to the front free endpaper.
The book features a collection of both colour and black and white illustration plates.
Dimensions approximately 21cm x 15.5cm x 4.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
