This beautiful vintage edition of The Bigelow Papers by James Russell Lowell was published by Walter Scott. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be from circa 1900/1910.
The book in quarter burgundy cloth with beautiful gilt decoration and patterned paper boards. It's a really attractive binding and in very good condition for it's age. There is light wear and crushing to the corners, and some small marks to the gilt text block edges. The spine is very slightly sunned and also has crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, the endpapers match the boards and there are no inscriptions or writings of any kind. The pages show light age toning and very occasional foxing but are otherwise clean and bright.
Dimensions approximately 17cm x 12cm x 2cm.
All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I try to use eco friendly packaging wherever possible. This includes 100% recycled jiffy bags, biodegradable bubble wrap, and paper offcuts from the newspaper industry.
