This beautiful edition of Aesop's Fables was published by George Routledge and Sons. The book itself is undated but I'd estimate the book to be from circa 1890-1900. It's bound in original pictorial red cloth. 

***Please note the internal condition points***

It's in good condition with light wear and bumping to the corners. There is heavy foxing to the text block edges and the boards show light marking. The spine is sunned, whilst crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth. 

Inside, the front free endpaper and half title page have been removed. The pages are clean and bright with occasional foxing. There is cracking to the gutter in places and the text block is a little shaky. A few of the black and white illustrations have been coloured in and there is the occasional chip to the page edges. There is a long tear to the list of illustrations.

Dimensions approximately 19.3cm x 13.2cm x 3.6cm. 

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.

I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
