This stunning edition of The Palace of Luxury and Other Stories was published by Blackie and Son. The book itself is undated but there is a presentation plate inside dated 1899. So the book is from the end of the Victorian era.
The book is beautifully bound in maroon cloth with pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition with just light wear and crushing to the corners and minor marking to the cloth. There is some fading to the edge of the back board and spine, whilst the spine ends are crushed.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and the endpapers are tanned. The pages show scattered foxing and marking but the text is clear and bright.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
