This lovely edition of Master Missionaries by Alexander Hay Japp was part of the Live Worth Living Series and was published by T Fisher Unwin. The book is undated but there is a presentation plate dated 1905. So the book is at least 120 years old.
The book is bound in original publisher's purple cloth, with pictorial decoration and gilt to the front board and spine. It's in good condition, with the most noticeable flaw being the fading to the spine. The boards are slightly bowed and there is minor marking to the cloth in places.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front free endpaper and the pages show significant tanning throughout. There is also sporadic foxing and occasional cracks to the gutter in places - despite this, the pages remain tightly bound. There are portrait illustration plates.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is either oxo-degradable (pale green in colour) or upcycled from deliveries I've had (this is clear and fully recyclable). The jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
