This stunning edition of The Choir School of St Bedes by Frederick Harrison was published by Blackie and Son. The book itself is undated but there is a presentation plate inside dated 1912. So the book is either from the Edwardian era or just after.
The book is beautifully bound in red cloth with pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition with just some light wear to the corners and faint soiling to the boards. The spine shows most wear, with sunning and rubbing to the cloth. There is also some minor marking and the spine ends are crushed.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and tanning to the pages. The endpapers are particularly tanned. There is scattered foxing and marking, with occasional cracks to the gutter. The pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 18.3cm x 13cm x 2.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
