This stunning edition of The Adventures of a Leather Purse by M Corbet Seymour was published by Blackie and Son. The book itself is undated but there is a presentation plate inside dated 1899. So the book is from the very end of the Victorian era.
The book is beautifully bound in blue cloth with pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition with just light wear and crushing to the corners and minor foxing to the text block edges. There is light bumping to the board edges and crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and some pencilled notes to the front free endpaper. There is also some tippex in the top corner of the FFEP. The pages show toning throughout, more prominent to the endpapers, and there is scattered foxing and marking to the pages.
Dimensions approximately 17cm x 12.5cm x 1.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
