This stunning antique First Edition of La Flandre a Vol D'Oiseau was published in Paris by Georges Decaux in 1883. Translated into English, the title is roughly "Flanders as the Crow Flies" (Flanders from a Birds Eye View). It's a stunning binding and in near fine condition. All edges gilt and bevelled boards.
There is light bumping to the board edges and the corners are more noticeably bumped (the bottom corner of the front board shows slight splitting in the cloth). There is minor marking to the cloth and faint sunning to the spine.
Inside, the pages show scattered foxing and creasing caused by handling. There is a small tear to the edge of the FFEP. The tissue guards for the black and white plates are tanned. There are further black and white illustrations within the text.
Dimensions approximately 287cm x 20cm x 3.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
