This stunning antique edition of Stepping Heavenward by E Prentiss was published by George Routledge and Sons for the Ruby Series. The book itself isn't dated but there is a penned inscription inside dated 1890.
The book is bound in original red cloth with pictorial decoration to the front and spine. It's in good condition but does show a forward lean and there is light wear to the corners. The boards show some light marking and discolouration and there is a creased to the back board. The spine is faded and crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting and loss to the cloth.
Inside, the free endpapers are tanned and there is a penned inscription on the half title page. The rest of the pages show lighter age toning and scattered foxing and handling marks. Dimensions approximately 18.9cm x 12.9cm x 2.1cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
