This beautiful and rare edition of The One Eyed Griffin and Other Fairy Tales by Rev H.E.Inman was published by Frederick Warne. The book is undated but there is an inscription dated 1904. The book is bound in red cloth over bevelled boards with black and gilt decoration to the front board and spine.
The book is in very good condition with light bumping to the board edges. The boards show light marking and soiling; there is fading to the spine and edges of the back board. There is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is tanning to the endpapers and a penned to the front pastedown (this has offset to the half title page). The pages show occasional foxing and scattered finger marks. There are occasional cracks to the gutter but the pages remain tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 20.3cm x 14.5cm x 3.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
