This rare edition of Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen was published by Macmillan and Co Ltd in 1901. The book features green cloth boards with beautiful pictorial decoration to the front and spine. It's a scarce copy and at the time of listing I can only find no other editions for sale online.
It's in good condition but there is sunning and discolouration to the spine, with rubbing to the decoration. Crushing to the spine ends has caused some splitting in the cloth and a split to the back joint has been repaired with glue (the book has undergone some restoration in the past). The boards show some marking and there is wear to the corners - the top corners are bumped. The book shows a slight forward lean.
Inside, the book has new endpapers and bumping to the top corner of the text block has caused creasing. The pages show tanning and occasional foxing, most prominent to the preliminary and end pages. The book is illustrated by Hugh Thomson - illustrations are collated and complete. Bumps to the edges of pages 83, 169 and 213 has caused slight damage to the paper. There are occasional cracks to the gutter but the pages remain tightly bound.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
