This stunning edition of Marion Scatterthwaite by Emma Marshall was published by John F Shaw. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be from circa 1900-1910. It's bound in original blue cloth with pictorial decoration and gilt to the front board and spine. All edges gilt.
Externally it's in very good condition with light marking to the boards and scuffing to the text block edges. The spine is light sunned and rubbed, with crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, the front free endpaper has been removed so the book opens onto an advertisement page. The pages are very tanned with occasional foxing (more prominent to the preliminary and end pages).
Dimensions approximately 21cm x 15.3cm x 4.1cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
