This stunning antique edition of Puff the Pomeranian was published by George Routledge and Sons. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be late Victorian (circa 1890's).
The book is bound in grey cloth with beautiful decoration to the front board. It's incredibly eye catching and there's a pasted on colour illustration framed to the front as well.
It's in good condition but there is light bumping and wear to the corners, and the boards have light soiling and marking. The top edge of the back board has some splitting and fraying to the cloth. The spine is slightly sunned, with crushing to the spine ends; the book shows a slight forward lean.
Inside, there are no inscriptions and the pages are clean and bright with minor marking and discolouration. The book includes a collection of animal tales, dictated by our four footed friends. There are both colour plates and numerous black and white woodcut illustrations.
Dimensions approximately 25cm x 19.5cm x 1.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
