This beautiful edition of The Poetical Works of Thomas Moore was published by Gall and Inglis. The book itself is undated but there is a penned inscription inside dated 1878. So the book is mid Victorian.
The book is bound in full Morocco with blind stamped decoration and gilt to the front board and spine. The spine features five raised bands; all edges gilt.
It's in near fine condition with light wear to the extremities and scuffing to the text block edges. The spine is faintly sunned.
Inside, the pages show light age toning and occasional foxing. There is a penned inscription on one of the preliminary blank pages. The book features stunning black and white illustration plates throughout.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
