This beautiful French Book called Petit Paroissien Romain is a miniature Catholic Prayer book. This edition was published in 1885. It features a full leather binding with elaborate metalwork to the front and five raised bands to the spine. The text block edges are gilt but if you fan them, you can see the original (hidden) marbling. Moire silk endpapers and gilt inner dentelles.
It's in fine condition, with minimal wear. There is a little tarnishing to the metal work and the boards sit slightly open.
Inside, the pages show very occasional foxing but the pages are clean and bright.
Dimensions approximately 10.3cm x 7cm x 1.6cm. The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
