This stunning German prayer book was published in 1863 and features a full Morocco binding with elaborate gilt decoration to the boards and spine. There is a brass clasp and all edges are gilt.

Externally the book is in excellent condition with just light wear and very minor loss to the gilt. There is also some wear to the spine ends and board edges.
Inside, there is cracking to the hinges but the pages remain tightly bound. There is some discreet writing to the bottom corner of one of the preliminary blank pages. The pages show light age toning and sporadic foxing - the three black and white plates show much heavier foxing and discolouration.
Dimensions approximately 16cm x 10.5cm x 2.1cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
