This lovely large format First Edition of Our Friendly Trees by Barbara Briggs was published by the Lutterworth Press circa 1933. It still has it's original dust jacket which shows wear and tear to the edges, with slight chipping and browning to the spine. There is also some marking and light foxing to the jacket.
Underneath the DJ, the book is bound in green cloth. It's in very good condition with slight sunning to the spine and wear to the corners. The cloth is very faintly damp spotted.
Inside, there is a name plate glued to the front pastedown and the DJ is clipped. The pages are clean and bright with scattered foxing. The page edges are rough cut. There are 16 colour plates, including the frontispiece, and 79 black and white line drawings.
Dimensions approximately 29cm x 24cm x 2.7cm.
The books will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
