This stunning quarter leather bound edition of Ormond by Maria Edgeworth was published by The Gresham Publishing Company. The book is undated, but Gresham were known to bring out a range of books in this particular binding circa 1900. The spine features a striking art deco design in gilt, originally created by Talwin Morris.
The book is in very good condition for it's age with minor foxing to the text block edges and rubbing to the corners. The boards show minor marking and there is sunning to the spine. There is some wear to the spine ends which has caused minor splitting to the head of the spine at the joints.
Inside, the pages show age toning and very occasional foxing but are otherwise clean and bright. The book features beautiful black and white plates by Fred Pegram.

All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
