This stunning first Folio Society edition of On the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin was published by The Folio Society in 2006. It features beautiful pictorial cloth to the front board and spine with gold gilt detail. It still has it's original slipcase.
This book is in very good condition for its age with the only real flaw being some slight fading to the spine. There is a small white mark to the front board. The slipcase shows some light marks and scuffs.
Inside there are no inscriptions or dedications, and the pages are clean and bright with minimal wear. There is a stamped name to the top corner of the front free endpaper.
The book is filled with both colour plates and black and white images.
Dimensions approximately 26cm x 18.5cm x 5.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
