This stunning antique edition of Queens of Literature of the Victorian Era was published by Walter Scott in 1886. It's bound in green cloth with pretty floral decoration to the front board and spine.
It's in good condition but the book shows a pronounced forward lean and there is wear and minor fraying to the corners. There is bumping to the board edges and marking to the boards. The spine is slightly darkened, with crushing to the spine ends. There is also foxing to the text block edges.
Inside, a presentation plate has been removed from the front pastedown but a faint impression of it can be seen on the front free endpaper. The pages show sporadic foxing and there is a slight tear to the frontispiece (at the gutter). There are occasional cracks to the gutter but no loose pages.
Dimensions approximately 18.8cm x 13.3cm x 2.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
