This beautiful edition of Muriel Malone by Charlotte Murray was published by S W Partridge and Co. The book is undated but I'd estimate it to be from circa 1900.
The book is bound in red cloth with stunning decoration in black, white and gilt to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition, with the most significant flaw being the pronounced foxing to the text block edges. The book shows a slight forward lean and there is rubbing to the corners. There is minor loss to the decoration, and the spine is sunned, with rubbing to the spine edges. Crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, there is a name written on the half title page. The pages show significant foxing throughout but the text remains clear and bright. Dimensions approximately 19cm x 13.5cm x 3.8cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
