This stunning Miniature Notebook features Mauchline Ware Boards with a scene of Auchinblae to the front. The village was best known for its weavers, a whisky distillery and the annual Paldie's Fair horse market.
There is a small metal clasp and a leather pen/pencil loop for a small pencil. All edges gilt. Mauchline Ware was a technique that originated in the 1830's in the Scottish town of Mauchline in which a transfer print was applied to a lacquered wooden object.
It's in very good condition, with light bumping and scuffing to the mauchline ware boards. There is scuffing to the gilt text block edges.
Inside, there is a pencilled name to the verso of the FFEP. The back free endpaper has been removed. There is no other writing and the pages show only light age toning. Dimensions of this tiny notebook approximately 6.8cm x 4.4cm x 1.3cm.
Every book purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned paper and string.
I try to use eco friendly packaging wherever possible. This includes 100% recycled jiffy bags, biodegradable bubble wrap, and paper offcuts from the newspaper industry.
