This beautiful collection of French Books were published in 1828 and are housed in a contemporary quarter Morocco binding with five raised bands and gilt tooling to the spines - it's a beautiful thistle design. The page edges are rough cut.
Other than a few condition points to be aware of, the books are in very good condition. The main flaw is the loss to the head of two spines where they've sustained some damage. The corners show wear and there is light sunning to the spines. There is light wear and chipping to the marbled paper in places.
Inside, the endpapers are marbled and the pages are clean and bright with only light age toning and signs of wear. There is very occasional foxing. Dimensions of each volume approximately 22cm x 14.3cm.
The books will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
