This beautiful vintage hardback edition of The Dog Crusoe by R M Ballantyne was published by James Nisbet & Co Ltd. The book itself isn't dated but there is a presentation plate dated 1919. So the book is from the early part of the 20th Century.
The book is bound in blue cloth with beautiful pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's a striking design and in remarkably good condition for it's age. There is light rubbing to the corners and minor soiling to the boards. The spine is very slightly faded and there is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown and the pages show some age toning and sporadic foxing. There are some small marks to the paper in places.
Dimensions approximately 19cm x 13cm x 4cm.
All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
