This stunning antique French book of Les Solennites de L'Eglise Catholique was published in 1856. The binding is incredibly striking, with blind stamped gilt and raised colour decoration to the boards and spine. All edges gilt.
It's in very good condition with light wear to the corners and minor rubbing to the spine. There is some light marking to the back board.
Inside, there discolouration to the endpapers and a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown. The pages show heavy foxing throughout. There are half tone plates, each with it's own tissue guard.
Dimensions approximately 28.5cm x 19.3cm x 2.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned paper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
