This beautiful edition of Tim's Treasure by Alice Lang was published by John F Shaw and Co. The book itself is undated but there is an inscription inside dated 1902.
The book is bound in green pictorial cloth with beautiful daffodil decoration to the front board and spine. It’s in good condition but there is wear to the corners and marking to the boards and spine. There is crushing to the spine ends and the book shows a slight forward lean. The text block is a bit shaky and some page segments stick out from the edge of the text block.
Inside, the pages show heavy tanning and foxing throughout, with occasional small stains in places. There is a penned inscription on the verso of the half title page. There are cracks to the gutter and as mentioned above, the text block is shaky, but there are no loose pages.
Dimensions approximately 19.1cm x 13cm x 2.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
