This beautiful antique edition of Wonders of Creation as Portrayed by Great Writers was published by Gall and Inglis. The book itself is undated but I'd estimate it to be late Victorian. The book is bound in blue cloth with pictorial decoration to the front board and spine. It's a really eye catching binding.
It's in very good condition with the most noticeable flaw being the sunning and discolouration to the spine. The corners show light wear and there is some foxing to the text block edges. The boards show minor marking and there is crushing to the spine ends.
Inside, the endpapers are tanned but there are no inscriptions. The pages have light age toning with occasional foxing. There are superficial cracks to the gutter in places but all pages remain tightly bound. There are a handful of black and white plates inside.
Dimensions approximately 21cm x 145cm x 4.3cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string. The bubble wrap I use is 100% biodegradable and the jiffy bags are recyclable.
Where possible, I use 100% recyclable paper tape, but sometimes I have to use clear plastic tape for extra strength.
