This beautiful edition of Cora or Three Years of a Girl's Life was published by the Religious Tract Society. The book itself is not dated but there is a written inscription inside dated 1899. So the book is from the late Victorian era.
The book is bound in brown cloth over bevelled boards with stunning blind stamped decoration and gilt to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition, with light wear and bumping to the board edges and corners. The cloth shows minor marking and there is some sunning and rubbing to the spine; the spine ends are crushed.
Inside, there is a written inscription on the front pastedown, as well as a penned name to the top. The pages show light age toning, with sporadic foxing and occasional marking. There are some cracks to the gutter but the pages remain tightly bound
Filled with black and white illustrations. Dimensions approximately 18.4cm x 14cm x 2.5cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
