This beautiful edition of The Gardener's Weekend Book by Eleanour Sinclair Rohde and Eric Parker was published by Seeley Service, London. The book itself is undated but after some research, I've managed to date the book to the 1940's.
The book is in very good condition and it's lovely to see it with it's original dust jacket. The DJ shows light wear and tear to the edges and corners, with minor marking and foxing to the paper. The spine is sunned, with very slight loss to the paper at the spine ends. There is also some foxing to the text block edges.
Inside, the DJ is unclipped and the endpapers are beautifully illustrated with insects. The pages show light age toning and occasional foxing but are otherwise clean and bright. The book features beautiful black and white illustrations heading up each chapter.
Dimensions approximately 19cm x 13.4cm x 2.8cm.
All books purchased will be hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
