This beautiful, antique hardback edition of At The Mercy of Tiberius by Augusta J Evans Wilson was published by Walter Scott Publishing Company. The book itself is undated but after some research, I estimate it to have been published circa 1900.
The book is bound in camel coloured cloth over bevelled boards with striking art nouveau floral decoration to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition but the cloth does show some fading - most noticeably to the spine and around the board edges. There are some minor marks to the cloth and light bumping to the corners. The gilt edges show some soiling and scuffing.
Inside, there are no inscriptions but the pages show age toning and foxing throughout. There are some occasional superficial cracks to the gutter in places but the pages are tightly bound.
Dimensions approximately 21cm x 15cm x 4.2cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
