This beautiful edition of A Pair of Old Shoes by Christabel Coleridge was published by Wells Gardner Darton and Co in 1894. So the book is from the late Victorian era.
The book is bound in blue cloth with pretty pictorial decoration and gilt to the front board and spine. It's in very good condition with just light rubbing to the corners. The boards show minor marking and there is a dent to the bottom edge of the back board.
Inside, there is a presentation plate glued to the front pastedown. The pages show age toning throughout, with occasional marking and creasing.
The book is filled with wonderful black and white illustration plates which add to the charm of this Children's book.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
