This vintage First Edition of The Tale of Beatrix Potter A Biography by Margaret Lane was published by Frederick Warne and Co Ltd in 1946. The book still has it's original dust jacket which is protected by clear plastic.
This lovely vintage copy is in good condition considering it's almost 80 years old. There is some wear and tear around the edges of the DJ and loss to the spine ends. The DJ shows some soiling and light staining, and the spine shows some wear and scuffing. Underneath the DJ, the book is bound in green cloth and this is in very good condition. There is light wear to the corners and spine ends.
Inside, there are no inscriptions and the pages are clean and bright with minor age toning and sporadic foxing. The inside of the DJ is significantly foxed. Some of the pages are very faintly creased.
There are beautiful illustration plates throughout as well as an excerpt of Potter's writing in facsimile form.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubbled wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
