This stunning first edition of Katrina by Roy Rolfe Gilson was designed by American artist and illustrator Adam Empie (his AE initials can be seen on the front board). It was published by The Baker and Taylor Company in 1906.
The book is bound in green cloth with beautiful floral decoration to the front and spine. It's in good condition but there is creasing to the front board where the top corner has been badly bumped. There is wear to the corners and board edges; the back board shows minor bumping and discolouration. The spine is sunned, whilst crushing to the spine ends has caused minor splitting in the cloth.
Inside, there is creasing and slight damage to the front pastedown where the board has creased and the frontispiece has been reattached. The pages show light age toning throughout. Please note that one plate is missing.

The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is biodegradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
