This beautiful set of three individual volumes of Familiar Wild Flowers by Edward Hulme includes volume 6, 7 and 8. They were published by Cassell and Company in 1910. The books are uniformly bound in half calf with gilt tooling and five raised bands to the spine. Text block edges marbled.
They're in good condition but there is sunning to the spine and chipping to the surface of the leather. There is slight splitting starting to the top of two back hinges and there is wear to the board edges which has caused peeling to the paper. There are some scuffs and marks to the boards, with a small are of loss to the marbled paper of volume six.
Inside, there are penned numbers to the top corner of the verso of the FFEP, and one has a penned name. The pages are clean and bright with sporadic foxing and light age toning.
Dimensions of each volume is 19.4cm x 13.5cm.
The books will arrive securely wrapped in bubble wrap, patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
