This beautiful collection of Familiar Wild Flowers by Edward Hulme features seven volumes that have been bound as four. They feature a quarter leather binding with gilt decoration to the spine and marbled text block edges. "Patent Splitcase Binding" have been stamped
They're in near fine condition with some minor scuffs and chips to the spine and slight dulling to the top edge of the text blocks. There is light wear to the spine ends and a small bump to the bottom edge of Volume VII.
Inside, there are no inscriptions and the pages show only light age toning and occasional handling marks. Each flower is illustrated in colour by Hulme and described in detail, including its habitat and medicinal use. There were eventually nine volumes, the last of which was published posthumously.
Dimensions of each volume is 19.7cm x 13.9cm.
The books will arrive securely wrapped in bubble wrap, patterned wallpaper and ribbon.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
