This beautiful edition of Flowerless Plants How and Where They Grow by S Leonard Bastin was published by Cassell and Company Ltd in 1913.
The book is bound in green cloth with blind stamped decoration and lettering in black to the front. The spine has gilt lettering. It's in very good condition but the book shows a slight forward lean and there is some wear and crushing to the corners. The board edges show light bumping and there is minor marking to the boards. The spine is faintly sunned and marked, with rubbing to the edges and crushing to the ends. There is foxing to the text block edges.
Inside, there is a name written in pen on the verso of the frontispiece and the pages show heavy foxing throughout. The tissue guard for the frontispiece is tanned. The book features 4 autochrome plates and 79 illustrations from photographs by the author.
Dimensions approximately 21.4cm x 15cm x 3.6cm.
The book will arrive hand wrapped in patterned wallpaper and string.
I use a range of eco friendly, 100% recyclable jiffy bags and boxes, and whenever possible I use brown paper tape. The green bubble wrap is oxo-degradable and the clear bubble wrap is 100% recyclable. I also reuse boxes when I feel it's appropriate (if the boxes are sturdy enough).
